The Friends of Lower Macungie Library was established in May 2010 with the following purpose:
Meetings: Meetings are held in the library the third Saturday of every month, September through May.
Membership: Dues are $10 per calendar year. Members have an exclusive preview of book sale items at the Friends Preview Night.
Ways to become involved:
Book Sales
Normally two book sales are held every year in the library in early May and late November (view our Events page for specific dates). Super deals on fiction, non-fiction, audios, movies and children’s books. Most are priced from $.50 to $2.00. All proceeds benefit the library. A special thank you to Hugh E. Friel, DSS, MDS for sponsoring our book sale bags since 2013.
Book Sale Help Needed!
The Friends need a co-chair and volunteers to help with the May Book Sale. Training will be provided. Our last sale was one of our most successful and we would love some fresh help to keep this wonderful tradition going. For more information or to get involved, please contact us.

Please place donations of books and other materials to the library in the receptacle outside the Friends’ Room (near the public restrooms.)

Accomplishments: To date, we have given $98,628 for special projects including the Leadership Gift to the Campaign to Transform LML. We have supported programming, staff development, redesign of the library website, and general technology needs. We purchased kiosks for the iPad catalogs and other equipment and furniture.
